The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced GCSE Maths Tutor to work in the Highgate area. This role offers the chance to make a real difference in the lives of students with special educational needs (SEN) through one-on-one tutoring and personalized support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, structured tuition to GCSE and KS3 Maths students in the Highgate area.
- Support students with special educational needs (SEN) using the Bright Heart Approach.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students to enhance confidence and motivation.
- Develop and implement individual learning plans (ILPs) tailored to each student’s needs.
- Communicate regularly with parents and the school to track progress and provide feedback.
- Attend training sessions and safeguarding workshops to ensure compliance with best practices.
- Maintain detailed records of student progress and tutoring sessions.
- Stay up to date with curriculum changes and teaching methodologies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- At least 12 months of relevant tutoring or teaching experience in the UK.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Strong subject knowledge in Maths at GCSE and KS3 level.
- Current Enhanced DBS certificate with a check of the children’s barred list.
- A university qualification or currently studying towards one, along with A-levels.
- Passion for teaching and working with students with SEN.
Preferred
- Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN).
- Availability on Monday mornings.
- Experience with online tutoring or interim education.
- Familiarity with the National Tutoring Programme (NTP) or similar initiatives.
