The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced GCSE Maths Tutor to work in the Highgate area. This role offers the chance to make a real difference in the lives of students with special educational needs (SEN) through one-on-one tutoring and personalized support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, structured tuition to GCSE and KS3 Maths students in the Highgate area.
  • Support students with special educational needs (SEN) using the Bright Heart Approach.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students to enhance confidence and motivation.
  • Develop and implement individual learning plans (ILPs) tailored to each student’s needs.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and the school to track progress and provide feedback.
  • Attend training sessions and safeguarding workshops to ensure compliance with best practices.
  • Maintain detailed records of student progress and tutoring sessions.
  • Stay up to date with curriculum changes and teaching methodologies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • At least 12 months of relevant tutoring or teaching experience in the UK.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Maths at GCSE and KS3 level.
  • Current Enhanced DBS certificate with a check of the children’s barred list.
  • A university qualification or currently studying towards one, along with A-levels.
  • Passion for teaching and working with students with SEN.

Preferred

  • Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Availability on Monday mornings.
  • Experience with online tutoring or interim education.
  • Familiarity with the National Tutoring Programme (NTP) or similar initiatives.
