As a SEND Tutor, you will play a vital role in supporting students with additional needs through personalized learning and guidance. This is a chance to make a real impact in the lives of students and help them achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-person and online educational tuition to children and young people with SEND needs.
  • Plan and deliver bespoke, student-centred lessons that promote engagement and progress.
  • Set SMART targets for learners and regularly review progress against these goals.
  • Design interventions that support both emotional and academic development.
  • Safeguard student welfare by following established safeguarding procedures.
  • Report on attendance, progress, and behaviour after each session.
  • Conduct risk assessments of environments and activities to ensure student safety.
  • Attend multi-agency meetings and staff CPD opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher with a teaching qualification (QTS) or significant classroom experience.
  • Significant experience supporting students with SEND in primary, secondary, or college settings.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and the ability to create a safe learning environment.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and communication skills.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to undergo a DBS check.

Preferred

  • Experience with online tuition and blended learning approaches.
  • Experience in developing and implementing individual learning plans.
  • Experience in working with multi-agency teams and supporting student well-being.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly rate of £30-£42 depending on experience.
