The Opportunity:
As a SEND Tutor, you will play a vital role in supporting students with additional needs through personalized learning and guidance. This is a chance to make a real impact in the lives of students and help them achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide in-person and online educational tuition to children and young people with SEND needs.
- Plan and deliver bespoke, student-centred lessons that promote engagement and progress.
- Set SMART targets for learners and regularly review progress against these goals.
- Design interventions that support both emotional and academic development.
- Safeguard student welfare by following established safeguarding procedures.
- Report on attendance, progress, and behaviour after each session.
- Conduct risk assessments of environments and activities to ensure student safety.
- Attend multi-agency meetings and staff CPD opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher with a teaching qualification (QTS) or significant classroom experience.
- Significant experience supporting students with SEND in primary, secondary, or college settings.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding and the ability to create a safe learning environment.
- Excellent subject knowledge and communication skills.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to undergo a DBS check.
Preferred
- Experience with online tuition and blended learning approaches.
- Experience in developing and implementing individual learning plans.
- Experience in working with multi-agency teams and supporting student well-being.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive hourly rate of £30-£42 depending on experience.
- Flexibility in working hours, with both part-time and full-time options available.
