The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated GCSE English Tutor to support students in the Woking area. This role offers the chance to make a real difference in the lives of students with special educational needs, using a warm and student-centred approach to build confidence and academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality GCSE English tuition to students with special educational needs
- Apply the Bright Heart Approach to build trust, self-esteem, and academic progress
- Follow structured guidelines and training provided by the agency
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and education consultants
- Maintain accurate records and provide regular feedback on student progress
- Adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning needs and goals
- Support students in developing key skills and confidence in English
- Attend training and professional development sessions as required
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- At least 12 months of relevant tutoring or teaching experience in the UK
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Strong subject knowledge in GCSE English
- University qualification or currently studying towards one
- A current Enhanced DBS certificate with children’s barred list check
- Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN)
Preferred
- Experience with the Bright Heart Approach or similar student-centred teaching methods
- Experience in delivering tuition to students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs
- Flexibility to tutor in-person in the Woking area or online
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and training
