GCSE English Tutor needed in Woking with experience in SEN support.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated GCSE English Tutor to support students in the Woking area. This role offers the chance to make a real difference in the lives of students with special educational needs, using a warm and student-centred approach to build confidence and academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality GCSE English tuition to students with special educational needs
  • Apply the Bright Heart Approach to build trust, self-esteem, and academic progress
  • Follow structured guidelines and training provided by the agency
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and education consultants
  • Maintain accurate records and provide regular feedback on student progress
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning needs and goals
  • Support students in developing key skills and confidence in English
  • Attend training and professional development sessions as required

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • At least 12 months of relevant tutoring or teaching experience in the UK
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Strong subject knowledge in GCSE English
  • University qualification or currently studying towards one
  • A current Enhanced DBS certificate with children’s barred list check
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN)

Preferred

  • Experience with the Bright Heart Approach or similar student-centred teaching methods
  • Experience in delivering tuition to students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs
  • Flexibility to tutor in-person in the Woking area or online
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and training
