Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality tuition in GCSE Maths and English to students with special educational needs
• Follow the Bright Heart Approach to build trust, self-esteem, and academic progress
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff
• Prepare and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs
• Provide regular feedback and support to students and their families
• Attend training sessions and ongoing professional development
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance
• Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment at all times

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• At least 12 months of relevant tutoring or teaching experience in the UK
• Excellent spoken and written English
• Strong subject knowledge in GCSE Maths and English
• A university qualification or currently studying towards one, along with A-levels
• Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN)
• Valid Enhanced DBS certificate with children’s barred list check
• 2 professional references and a parent reference

Preferred

• Experience with the National Tutoring Programme (NTP)
• Familiarity with the Bright Heart Approach
• Experience in online tutoring
• Previous experience with students lacking confidence or motivation
• Knowledge of study techniques and transition support for young people
