GCSE Maths Tutor required in Chorleywood with experience in SEN support.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced GCSE Maths Tutor to work in the Chorleywood area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in SEN support and a commitment to helping students achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality GCSE Maths tuition to students with special educational needs
  • Develop and implement individual learning plans tailored to student needs
  • Provide clear and structured lessons that support academic progress
  • Communicate regularly with parents and education consultants to monitor student development
  • Attend training and safeguarding sessions to ensure compliance with Bright Heart standards
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and feedback
  • Support students in building confidence, self-esteem, and motivation
  • Adapt teaching methods to suit diverse learning styles and needs

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • At least 12 months of relevant tutoring and/or teaching experience in the UK
  • Strong subject knowledge in GCSE Maths
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Current Enhanced DBS certificate (with check of the children’s barred list)
  • 2 relevant professional references and a parent reference

Preferred

  • Experience with students with PDA (Pervasive Developmental Disorder)
  • Familiarity with the Bright Heart Approach
  • Experience with online and in-person tutoring
  • Background in study techniques and transition support
