KS3 Tutor with SEN experience needed in Tooting area.

The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced KS3 Tutor to work with students in the Tooting area. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in core subjects and experience working with students with SEN. As a tutor with Bright Heart, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through personalized, student-centred support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective tuition in core subjects to KS3 students
- Work closely with students with special educational needs (SEN) and provide tailored support
- Apply the Bright Heart Approach to build trust, self-esteem, and academic confidence
- Collaborate with parents, schools, and other professionals to support student progress
- Attend training and development sessions to enhance teaching practices and safeguarding knowledge
- Maintain accurate records and provide regular feedback on student progress
- Comply with all safeguarding and child protection policies
- Travel to assigned locations within the Tooting area for in-person tutoring sessions
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- At least 12 months of relevant tutoring and/or teaching experience in the UK
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Strong subject knowledge in core subjects (English, maths, science)
- Current Enhanced DBS certificate with a check of the children’s barred list
- 2 relevant professional references and a parent reference
- University qualification or studying towards one and A-levels
- Passion for teaching and working with students with SEN
Preferred
- Experience with students with special educational needs (SEN) or social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs
- Experience with the Bright Heart Approach or similar student-centred teaching methods
- Familiarity with individual learning plans (ILPs) and SEMH support strategies
- Flexibility to work both in-person and online
- Experience with the National Tutoring Programme (NTP) or similar initiatives
