KS2 Tutor needed in East Grinstead with experience in SEN support.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced KS2 Tutor to support students in the East Grinstead area. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in teaching and a genuine interest in working with students who have special educational needs (SEN). As a tutor, you will play a vital role in helping students build confidence, self-esteem, and academic skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective one-to-one or small group tuition to KS2 students
  • Support students with special educational needs using the Bright Heart Approach
  • Develop and implement individual learning plans tailored to each student’s needs
  • Communicate regularly with parents and education consultants to track student progress
  • Attend training and professional development sessions to enhance teaching skills
  • Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment for all students
  • Collaborate with other tutors and education professionals to ensure consistency in teaching methods
  • Provide regular feedback on student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • At least 12 months of relevant tutoring and/or teaching experience in the UK
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Strong subject knowledge in KS2 curriculum areas
  • University qualification or currently studying towards one
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Current Enhanced DBS certificate (with children’s barred list check)
  • 2 relevant professional references and a parent reference

Preferred

  • Experience with the Bright Heart Approach or similar student-centred teaching methods
  • Previous experience in SEN tutoring or teaching
  • Flexibility to work in-person in the East Grinstead area
  • Experience with online tutoring platforms
  • Passion for working with students who need additional academic and emotional support
