The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced GCSE Physics Tutor to support students in the Liss area. This role is ideal for someone who is dedicated to helping students with SEN achieve their full potential through personalized and impactful tutoring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging GCSE Physics tuition tailored to the individual needs of students.
  • Apply the Bright Heart Approach, focusing on building trust, self-esteem, and academic confidence.
  • Work closely with students with special educational needs, adapting teaching methods to suit their learning style.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and other professionals to ensure consistent support for students.
  • Follow safeguarding and child protection policies at all times.
  • Attend training and development sessions to enhance teaching and support strategies.
  • Maintain detailed records of student progress and learning outcomes.
  • Provide feedback to the school and Bright Heart Education to support continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • At least 12 months of relevant tutoring and/or teaching experience in the UK.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Strong subject knowledge in GCSE Physics.
  • A university qualification or currently studying towards one, along with A-levels.
  • A current Enhanced DBS certificate (with a check of the children’s barred list).
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience with the Bright Heart Approach or similar student-centred teaching methods.
  • Previous experience in SEN tuition or teaching.
  • Familiarity with the National Tutoring Programme (NTP) or similar initiatives.
  • Flexibility to work in-person in the Liss area or provide online tuition.
