The Opportunity:

As a SEND Tutor, you will provide tailored support to students with additional needs, helping them achieve their full potential through engaging and personalized learning. This role is ideal for educators who are passionate about making a real difference in the lives of students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-person and online educational tuition to children and young people with SEND needs.
  • Plan and deliver bespoke, student-centred lessons that promote engagement and progress.
  • Set SMART targets for learners and regularly monitor and review progress.
  • Design interventions that support both the emotional and academic development of students.
  • Safeguard student welfare by following established safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Report on student attendance, progress, and behavior after each session.
  • Conduct risk assessments of learning environments to ensure student safety.
  • Attend multi-agency meetings and staff CPD opportunities to support continuous professional development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant classroom experience.
  • Experience working with students with SEND in primary, secondary, or college settings.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.

Preferred

  • Experience with online tutoring platforms.
  • Completion of safeguarding training.
  • Experience in developing and implementing individual learning plans.
