As a SEND Tutor, you will make a meaningful impact on the lives of students with special educational needs, offering tailored support and guidance to help them achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-person and online tuition to students with SEND needs.
  • Design and deliver bespoke, student-centred lessons that promote engagement and progress.
  • Set and regularly review SMART targets for all learners.
  • Develop interventions that support both academic and emotional well-being.
  • Ensure the safety and welfare of students through appropriate safeguarding procedures.
  • Report on student attendance, progress, and behaviour after each session.
  • Conduct risk assessments of learning environments and activities.
  • Attend multi-agency meetings and CPD sessions to enhance professional development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant classroom experience.
  • Proven experience working with students with SEND in primary, secondary, or college settings.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures and creating a safe learning environment.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.

Preferred

  • Experience with online teaching platforms and blended learning methods.
  • Experience in designing and implementing individual learning plans.
  • Familiarity with multi-agency collaboration and student support frameworks.
