The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Geography and Environmental Science Teacher to join our team and inspire the next generation of learners. This role involves delivering engaging lessons in A Level Geography and Environmental Science, with a focus on topics such as climate change, sustainability, and ecosystems. The ideal candidate will contribute to a supportive learning environment and help prepare students for university and future careers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in A Level Geography and Environmental Science.
  • Support students in achieving excellent academic outcomes and preparing for university and future careers.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of enrichment opportunities and extracurricular activities.
  • Assist in the management and delivery of the Duke of Edinburgh Award programme where possible.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and effective curriculum.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Geography and Environmental Science education.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Geography and Environmental Science.
  • Proven ability to deliver engaging and challenging lessons at A Level.
  • Strong knowledge of Geography and Environmental Science curriculum topics.
  • Experience in supporting student progression to university and careers.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred

  • Experience in running or supporting the Duke of Edinburgh Award programme.
  • Experience with teaching in a sixth form or similar setting.
  • Ability to contribute to extracurricular and enrichment activities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with using digital tools and resources in teaching.
