The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Geography and Environmental Science Teacher to join our team and inspire the next generation of learners. This role involves delivering engaging lessons in A Level Geography and Environmental Science, with a focus on topics such as climate change, sustainability, and ecosystems. The ideal candidate will contribute to a supportive learning environment and help prepare students for university and future careers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in A Level Geography and Environmental Science.
- Support students in achieving excellent academic outcomes and preparing for university and future careers.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of enrichment opportunities and extracurricular activities.
- Assist in the management and delivery of the Duke of Edinburgh Award programme where possible.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and effective curriculum.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Stay up to date with developments in Geography and Environmental Science education.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Geography and Environmental Science.
- Proven ability to deliver engaging and challenging lessons at A Level.
- Strong knowledge of Geography and Environmental Science curriculum topics.
- Experience in supporting student progression to university and careers.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred
- Experience in running or supporting the Duke of Edinburgh Award programme.
- Experience with teaching in a sixth form or similar setting.
- Ability to contribute to extracurricular and enrichment activities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with using digital tools and resources in teaching.
