The Opportunity:
A Geography Curriculum Leader is needed to lead a dynamic and successful department. This role offers the chance to shape the future of Geography education and inspire students through innovative teaching and meaningful fieldwork experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of a knowledge-rich Geography curriculum from Year 7 through to A Level.
- Ensure high-quality and engaging learning experiences for all students.
- Support and empower colleagues to achieve the highest standards in teaching and learning.
- Promote excellent practice through modelling and sharing of innovative teaching methods.
- Foster curiosity and critical thinking in students, preparing them for the challenges of a rapidly changing world.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement a strategic vision for the Geography department.
- Deliver outstanding outcomes for students through strong subject knowledge and effective pedagogy.
- Engage in professional development and contribute to the wider education community through CPD opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Excellent lesson practice and high expectations of pupil attainment.
- Proven experience in teaching Geography at Key Stage 3, GCSE, and A Level.
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver a rich and engaging curriculum.
- Experience in leading a department and supporting colleagues to achieve excellence.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred
- Experience with Edexcel B Geography and Edexcel A Level Geography.
- Evidence of successful curriculum development and implementation.
- Experience in leading or contributing to school-wide initiatives or strategic planning.
- Experience in delivering fieldwork and incorporating real-world data into teaching.
