We are seeking a Geography Department 2IC to lead and inspire a dynamic team of educators. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the Geography Department in delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences across KS3 and KS4.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative and engaging teaching strategies.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
- Promote a positive learning culture with high expectations for student behavior and achievement.
- Contribute to departmental planning, curriculum development, and staff training initiatives.
- Support the delivery of Geography lessons at KS5, where applicable.
- Work closely with senior leadership to ensure alignment with school objectives and values.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment within the department.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a strong background in Geography.
- Excellent knowledge of the Geography National curriculum at KS3 and KS4.
- Proven experience in leading and managing a department.
- High expectations of student behavior, learning, and achievement.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching Geography at KS5.
- A track record of innovative teaching and learning approaches.
- Experience in staff development and training.
- Familiarity with CPD programmes and professional growth opportunities.
