Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the Geography Department in delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences across KS3 and KS4.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative and engaging teaching strategies.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
  • Promote a positive learning culture with high expectations for student behavior and achievement.
  • Contribute to departmental planning, curriculum development, and staff training initiatives.
  • Support the delivery of Geography lessons at KS5, where applicable.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to ensure alignment with school objectives and values.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment within the department.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a strong background in Geography.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Geography National curriculum at KS3 and KS4.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing a department.
  • High expectations of student behavior, learning, and achievement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching Geography at KS5.
  • A track record of innovative teaching and learning approaches.
  • Experience in staff development and training.
  • Familiarity with CPD programmes and professional growth opportunities.
