The Opportunity:

As a Religious Education Teacher, you will inspire and challenge students aged 11–16 with engaging lessons that support their academic and personal development. This is a full-time, one-year fixed-term role with opportunities for growth and collaboration within a dynamic department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Religious Education lessons aligned with Key Stage 3 and 4 curricula
  • Develop engaging and inclusive lesson plans tailored to diverse learning needs
  • Support students in developing their confidence, critical thinking, and academic progress
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the RE department to enhance teaching and learning
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively to ensure a positive learning environment
  • Promote the school’s Catholic values and ethos through teaching and pastoral care
  • Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives
  • Maintain accurate records and assessments of student progress

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant degree
  • Strong understanding of Key Stage 3 and 4 RE curriculum
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to create engaging and differentiated lesson plans
  • Strong organisational skills and classroom management experience

Preferred

  • Experience teaching Religious Education in a Catholic school setting
  • Background in pastoral care or student support
  • Experience with collaborative teaching and departmental planning
  • Familiarity with Catholic education values and ethos
