Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Geography lessons that engage and challenge students across all key stages.
  • Foster a classroom environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for the subject.
  • Support student achievement through differentiated teaching and individualised learning strategies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement a cohesive Geography curriculum.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, staff training, and wider school initiatives.
  • Monitor and assess student progress effectively, providing constructive feedback.
  • Stay up to date with current geographical issues and incorporate them into teaching.
  • Mentor and support students in their academic and personal development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Geography.
  • Experience teaching Geography at Key Stages 3 and 4, with the ability to teach 6th Form.
  • Commitment to student achievement and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to departmental and school-wide goals.

Preferred

  • Experience with teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Previous experience in a school with a strong focus on student welfare and safeguarding.
  • Experience with curriculum development and innovation in Geography teaching.
  • Knowledge of current geographical research and global issues.
