Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Geography lessons that engage and challenge students across all key stages.
- Foster a classroom environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for the subject.
- Support student achievement through differentiated teaching and individualised learning strategies.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement a cohesive Geography curriculum.
- Participate in departmental meetings, staff training, and wider school initiatives.
- Monitor and assess student progress effectively, providing constructive feedback.
- Stay up to date with current geographical issues and incorporate them into teaching.
- Mentor and support students in their academic and personal development.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Geography.
- Experience teaching Geography at Key Stages 3 and 4, with the ability to teach 6th Form.
- Commitment to student achievement and inclusive teaching practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to departmental and school-wide goals.
Preferred
- Experience with teaching English as a Second Language.
- Previous experience in a school with a strong focus on student welfare and safeguarding.
- Experience with curriculum development and innovation in Geography teaching.
- Knowledge of current geographical research and global issues.
