The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Geography lessons across all key stages, focusing on both Human and Physical Geography.
  • Plan and lead fieldwork investigations, including domestic and international trips, to enhance student learning.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the school's environmental action plan.
  • Support the Geography Society and extension programme for Sixth Form pupils.
  • Prepare students for IGCSE and A Level Geography, with a strong track record of academic success.
  • Engage in professional development and intra-department discussions to enhance teaching practice.
  • Use GIS technology and smartboard-equipped classrooms to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher or Geography graduate with the potential to gain teaching experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Geography, including Human and Physical Geography.
  • Experience in curriculum development and delivery.
  • Ability to manage and lead fieldwork trips.
  • Commitment to student academic success and personal development.

Preferred

  • Experience with Geographical Information Systems (GIS).
  • Background in environmental education or sustainability.
  • Experience in teaching at an independent or selective school.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Passion for Geography and a commitment to lifelong learning.
