The Opportunity:

Join a dynamic team of Geography specialists to inspire and challenge students in a school known for its academic excellence. This role offers the chance to teach at Key Stages 4 and 5, including in the sixth form, and to lead a comprehensive and innovative fieldwork programme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Geography lessons that engage and challenge students at all levels.
  • Develop and implement a varied and effective fieldwork programme, including overseas visits.
  • Support students in developing high-level enquiry skills through practical and experiential learning.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of a rich and stimulating curriculum across Key Stages 4 and 5.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain and enhance the reputation of the Geography department.
  • Participate in the school’s wide range of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
  • Provide pastoral support to students where appropriate.
  • Monitor and assess student progress to ensure continued academic success.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Geography education.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Geography, with the ability to teach at Key Stages 4 and 5.
  • Experience in delivering fieldwork and outdoor learning opportunities.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching in a selective school or similar environment.
  • Experience with sixth form teaching or leadership.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to curriculum development.
  • Experience with overseas or international fieldwork trips.
  • Experience with a wide range of extra-curricular or co-curricular activities.
