The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant – Inclusion to provide essential support to students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). This role plays a vital part in ensuring all students have the opportunity to succeed in mainstream and targeted learning environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with special educational needs and disabilities in mainstream lessons and small group settings.
  • Deliver targeted interventions designed to improve learning outcomes for students with SEND.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to develop and implement individual learning plans.
  • Assist in the management of classroom behavior and promote a positive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with parents, carers, and other professionals to support student progress.
  • Participate in staff development and training opportunities to enhance teaching and support strategies.
  • Contribute to the overall inclusive culture of the school through active involvement in school initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records and report on student progress and achievements.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A relevant degree or currently enrolled in a relevant postgraduate program.
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a teaching or educational support role.
  • Experience with inclusive education practices.
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and learning support tools.
  • Knowledge of SEND policy and practice in education.
