The Opportunity:

As a Site Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the school's facilities. This varied and active role will allow you to utilise and develop your maintenance and construction skills in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain school buildings, grounds, and infrastructure to ensure a safe and functional learning environment.
  • Carry out a range of manual tasks, including carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work, where required.
  • Collaborate with the site services team to complete larger projects and meet deadlines.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and school policies.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, students, and visitors to address maintenance needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
  • Support the school in event planning and other activities that require site management.
  • Assist with general administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in maintenance or construction work, ideally within an educational setting.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic manual skills and the ability to use a range of tools and equipment.

Preferred

  • Experience in carpentry, plumbing, or electrical work.
  • Previous experience in a school or similar environment.
  • Familiarity with school systems and processes.
  • A proactive and practical approach to problem-solving.
