The Opportunity:

As a Hard Services Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining the technical services of the school's estates. Working closely with the Hard Services Supervisor and Facilities Manager, you will ensure that maintenance processes are efficient, effective, and meet contractual standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the smooth running of maintenance operations across the school's estates.
  • Collaborate with sub-contractors and ensure all services meet KPIs and SLAs.
  • Carry out plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance tasks.
  • Assist in managing and maintaining the technical services arm of the school's operations.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in all maintenance activities.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of the Hard FM services stream.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on all maintenance activities.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A trade qualification or relevant experience in plumbing, electrical, or general building maintenance.
  • Previous experience in a maintenance role within a school, hospital, or commercial environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality service delivery.

Preferred

  • Experience working within an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of maintenance management systems and software.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations in the maintenance sector.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
