The Opportunity:
We are seeking a visionary Head of Business and Economics to lead a dynamic department and shape the future of the subject within a values-led school. This role offers the opportunity to influence curriculum development, inspire students, and contribute to a thriving academic community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Business and Economics department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement a forward-thinking curriculum that reflects the modern economic and business landscape.
- Support and mentor colleagues, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional growth.
- Deliver outstanding academic results across all key stages, with a focus on A Level and IB students.
- Promote and enhance the school’s Quaker values through teaching and Co-Curricular involvement.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school, including the Games programme and other extracurricular activities.
- Ensure the department maintains a strong and positive reputation within the school and the wider education community.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience as a Head of Department or in a senior leadership role within education.
- Strong subject knowledge in Business and Economics, with a passion for teaching and learning.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Commitment to the Quaker values of integrity, respect, simplicity, and sustainability.
- Experience in curriculum development and delivery across a range of key stages.
Preferred
- Experience with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme.
- Experience in a co-educational or mixed-ability setting.
- Involvement in the wider school community, including Co-Curricular and Games activities.
- A track record of driving academic excellence and student achievement.
