The Opportunity:
As the Head of Business Studies, you will lead a dynamic department and drive the development of a high-quality, inclusive KS5 programme. This is a key leadership role with the potential to shape the future of Business Studies at a school undergoing significant curriculum reform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Business Studies department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning
- Develop and implement a forward-thinking curriculum aligned with the school's vision and national standards
- Support staff through professional development and mentorship opportunities
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring consistent academic outcomes and inclusion
- Collaborate with colleagues across the school to enhance cross-curricular links and enrichment opportunities
- Represent the department at school-level meetings and external events
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in teaching practice
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment for all students
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in leading a department and managing a team of teachers
- Strong track record in delivering high-quality Business Studies at KS5
- Experience in curriculum development and reform
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Commitment to inclusive and reflective teaching practices
- Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge
Preferred
- Experience with industry-recognised qualifications or training programmes
- Background in professional development and teacher training
- Experience in leading or contributing to school-wide initiatives
