The Opportunity:

As the Head of Business Studies, you will lead a dynamic department and drive the development of a high-quality, inclusive KS5 programme. This is a key leadership role with the potential to shape the future of Business Studies at a school undergoing significant curriculum reform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Business Studies department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning
  • Develop and implement a forward-thinking curriculum aligned with the school's vision and national standards
  • Support staff through professional development and mentorship opportunities
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring consistent academic outcomes and inclusion
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to enhance cross-curricular links and enrichment opportunities
  • Represent the department at school-level meetings and external events
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in teaching practice
  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment for all students

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in leading a department and managing a team of teachers
  • Strong track record in delivering high-quality Business Studies at KS5
  • Experience in curriculum development and reform
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Commitment to inclusive and reflective teaching practices
  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge

Preferred

  • Experience with industry-recognised qualifications or training programmes
  • Background in professional development and teacher training
  • Experience in leading or contributing to school-wide initiatives
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies
