The Opportunity:

The Head of College (Vice Principal) will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic vision of the school and leading a key area of the academy. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a college within the school, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Support the Principal in developing and implementing the strategic vision of the school.
  • Provide line management for key subject areas and ensure the effective delivery of the curriculum.
  • Foster strong relationships with staff, students, parents, and the wider community.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across the academy.
  • Monitor and evaluate performance, ensuring that all students achieve their full potential.
  • Work closely with the senior leadership team to drive school improvement and development.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and initiatives that support student success and staff development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience at a secondary level, with a track record of raising standards and improving student outcomes.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Experience in strategic planning and management within an educational setting.
  • A commitment to inclusive education and student wellbeing.
  • The ability to inspire and motivate staff, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a college or department within a multi-academy trust.
  • Familiarity with the college model of education and its benefits.
  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team effectively.
  • Experience in working with diverse student populations and supporting their academic and personal development.
