The Opportunity:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team and support the learning and development of pupils, with a particular emphasis on working with students with special educational needs. This role offers an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support whole class teaching and learning activities
  • Assist in the delivery of lessons and support individual and group learning
  • Promote the wellbeing and emotional safety of pupils
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers and colleagues
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of children
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of pupils
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with staff
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • At least a Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning
  • Experience working with SEND pupils
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing needs
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection

Preferred

  • Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) qualification
  • Experience in whole class teaching
  • Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary on the NJC scale 11-20 (pro rata)
  • Term time plus 5 inset days, 35 hours per week
