Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Computer Science department.
  • Develop and implement a high-quality, innovative curriculum in line with current and future technological trends.
  • Inspire and support both students and colleagues to achieve excellence in computing education.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate computing across the wider curriculum.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning in Computer Science.
  • Foster a culture of continuous professional development for staff.
  • Ensure the school's computing provision meets the needs of all students, including those with special educational needs.
  • Represent the department at school-level meetings and events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in teaching and leading Computer Science at a senior level.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • In-depth knowledge of computing and ICT curriculum development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A relevant teaching qualification and relevant experience in education.

Preferred

  • Experience in a leadership role within a school or educational institution.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies and pedagogical approaches in computing.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
  • Knowledge of best practices in student engagement and learning outcomes.
