The Opportunity:

As Head of Creative Arts, you will lead and inspire a dynamic team, shaping a forward-thinking curriculum in Art, Design Technology, Hospitality & Catering, and Photography. This role offers the chance to influence student outcomes and drive innovation across the Creative Arts department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Creative Arts curriculum, ensuring it is engaging, inclusive, and ambitious.
  • Manage and support a team of teachers across Art, Design Technology, Hospitality & Catering, and Photography.
  • Deliver high-quality, practical and creative learning experiences for students.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress and outcomes across the Creative Arts.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate creative learning across the school.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, inclusion, and excellence in teaching and learning.
  • Represent the Creative Arts department at senior leadership meetings and external events.
  • Ensure the safe and effective use of resources and facilities within the department.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in leading a department or team within a school setting.
  • Strong background in Art or Design Technology with a willingness to take on broader leadership responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver high-quality curriculum and teaching.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student success and inclusion.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and strategic planning.
  • Leadership experience in a multi-subject or cross-faculty role.
  • Familiarity with Hospitality & Catering or Photography education.
  • Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational organization.
