The Opportunity:
As Head of Creative Arts, you will lead and inspire a dynamic team, shaping a forward-thinking curriculum in Art, Design Technology, Hospitality & Catering, and Photography. This role offers the chance to influence student outcomes and drive innovation across the Creative Arts department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Creative Arts curriculum, ensuring it is engaging, inclusive, and ambitious.
- Manage and support a team of teachers across Art, Design Technology, Hospitality & Catering, and Photography.
- Deliver high-quality, practical and creative learning experiences for students.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress and outcomes across the Creative Arts.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate creative learning across the school.
- Foster a culture of innovation, inclusion, and excellence in teaching and learning.
- Represent the Creative Arts department at senior leadership meetings and external events.
- Ensure the safe and effective use of resources and facilities within the department.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in leading a department or team within a school setting.
- Strong background in Art or Design Technology with a willingness to take on broader leadership responsibilities.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver high-quality curriculum and teaching.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to student success and inclusion.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and strategic planning.
- Leadership experience in a multi-subject or cross-faculty role.
- Familiarity with Hospitality & Catering or Photography education.
- Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational organization.
