The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Criminology, Philosophy and Ethics to lead a growing and successful department. This role offers the chance to shape the future of a thriving subject area and make a meaningful impact on student learning and development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach Criminology at Level 3 and Religious Studies to Key Stage 3 and GCSE.
• Provide leadership and management to the department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
• Quality assure teaching and learning within the department.
• Manage the departmental budget effectively.
• Develop the super-curricular life and offer of the department.
• Support colleagues and carry out all associated duties as a middle manager.
• Inspire students through excellent teaching and passionate subject knowledge.
• Promote resilience, adaptability, and independence through teaching.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• At least three years’ successful teaching of Criminology examination classes.
• A good degree in Criminology or a related subject, with a supporting PGCE or QTS.
• Ability to teach Religious Studies and Philosophy & Ethics at all levels.
• Commitment to delivering inspiring and exciting lessons across all key stages.

Preferred

• Experience in delivering Philosophy & Ethics at A-level.
• Willingness to participate in the wider life and Christian traditions of the school.
• Experience in pastoral leadership roles.
