Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective Chemistry lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
  • Develop and implement creative teaching strategies to enhance student understanding and achievement.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback and support.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and continuously improve teaching and learning.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development and planning.
  • Support the school’s mission of putting students first and ensuring all students reach their full potential.
  • Stay up to date with curriculum developments and incorporate new teaching methods and technologies.
  • Mentor and support new teachers, contributing to a positive and collaborative working environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Science Teacher with a strong background in Chemistry.
  • Experience in teaching Chemistry up to Key Stage 5.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Chemistry curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to student achievement and a passion for Science education.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive and high-achieving team.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering a knowledge-rich, personalised curriculum.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Previous experience in a school with an Ofsted Outstanding rating.
  • Involvement in extracurricular science activities or STEM initiatives.
