The Opportunity:
As a Teacher Development Lead, you will play a key role in shaping the future of teaching across West London. This position offers the chance to lead high-quality professional development for Early Career Teachers and contribute to the delivery of Secondary Initial Teacher Training. Your work will have a direct impact on improving teaching standards and supporting the growth of new educators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of high-quality professional development for Early Career Teachers, ensuring statutory support and engagement.
- Contribute to the quality assurance and delivery of Secondary Initial Teacher Training, including oversight of placements and support for trainees.
- Support the recruitment of high-quality trainees onto ITT programmes.
- Work closely with the Head of Hub to sustain and enhance the Teaching School Hub’s presence.
- Regularly visit partner schools to ensure the quality and consistency of ITT and ECTP programme delivery.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Successful experience in supporting, developing, or training teachers, ECTs, and trainees.
- Confidence in analysing data and using insights to drive improvement.
- Ability to build trusted professional relationships with schools, mentors, trainees, and colleagues.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload with autonomy.
Preferred
- Experience with Initial Teacher Training or professional development delivery.
- Familiarity with Early Career Teacher programmes and statutory requirements.
- Experience in a Teaching School Hub or similar educational leadership role.
