The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Head of Drama to lead and inspire a vibrant drama program for Years 4-8. This role involves teaching drama classes and organizing a range of productions throughout the year. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting creativity and performance across the Senior Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the drama curriculum for Years 4-8
  • Organize and direct multiple drama productions throughout the academic year
  • Deliver high-quality drama classes that engage and inspire students
  • Collaborate with other teachers and departments to integrate drama into the wider curriculum
  • Support students in developing performance, acting, and creative skills
  • Ensure all productions are well-rehearsed, safe, and inclusive
  • Promote drama and performance opportunities both within and outside the school
  • Maintain and update drama resources and materials

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in leading drama programs in a school setting
  • Strong background in teaching drama to children aged 8-13
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to direct and manage productions effectively
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection

Preferred

  • Experience in co-educational settings
  • Familiarity with LAMDA or similar performance qualifications
  • Experience with curriculum development in drama
  • Strong understanding of child development and teaching methodologies
