The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Economics and Business to lead a thriving department and potentially take on a vocational T Levels Lead role. This is a unique opportunity to shape the academic direction of the department and support students in achieving their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Economics and Business Studies department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement a robust curriculum that aligns with the school’s academic and Catholic values.
  • Support staff through professional development and mentorship, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring outstanding outcomes and addressing individual needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance cross-curricular links and provide a holistic educational experience.
  • Promote the school’s values of Serviam, Kindness, Respect, Generosity of Spirit, Perseverance, and Gratitude.
  • Engage with parents and the wider community to build strong relationships and support student achievement.
  • Contribute to the strategic development of the school, including the expansion of vocational pathways.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a school or college setting, preferably in Economics and Business Studies.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Economics and Business Studies, with a commitment to Catholic education.
  • Experience in curriculum development and department management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading vocational T Levels or similar qualifications.
  • A track record of achieving high student outcomes and academic excellence.
  • Familiarity with the Progress 8 measure and school improvement strategies.
  • Experience in professional development and mentoring staff.
