The Opportunity:

As Head of Economics and Business Studies, you will lead a dynamic department and deliver a high-quality curriculum that inspires student achievement. You will play a key role in shaping the academic and pastoral experience of students across KS4 and KS5, while supporting colleagues and contributing to the school's broader vision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Economics and Business Studies department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that meets the needs of students and aligns with the school’s academic vision.
  • Provide professional development and mentorship to departmental colleagues.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative environment that encourages excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the pastoral and academic life of the school, including student support and wider curricular activities.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring consistent achievement and engagement.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the school to enhance the educational experience for all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Degree or equivalent in Economics, Business Studies, or a related subject.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ teaching experience in Economics and Business Studies at KS4 and KS5.
  • Experience in departmental leadership and strategic vision.
  • Strong IT skills for enhancing teaching and administrative tasks.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading successful departmental initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to model best practice in teaching and learning.
  • Experience in pastoral care and student tutoring.
