As Head of English Faculty, you will lead a dedicated team and drive excellence in teaching, learning, and student outcomes. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the English faculty, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Monitor and improve student progress and attainment across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Work closely with colleagues to deliver a challenging and engaging curriculum.
- Support and mentor staff to enhance teaching quality and professional development.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure alignment with school values and strategic goals.
- Promote a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure the effective use of resources and time for planning and professional development.
- Engage with parents and the wider community to support student learning and school values.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in leading a department or faculty within a secondary school setting.
- Strong track record in delivering high standards of teaching and student achievement in English.
- Demonstrated ability to inspire and develop colleagues through effective leadership.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
- Alignment with values of manners, hard work, and honesty.
Preferred
- Experience in managing large teams and driving school improvement initiatives.
- Familiarity with English as a Second Language teaching practices.
- Experience in curriculum development and assessment strategies.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with stakeholders.
