The Opportunity:
As a Lead Practitioner Maths, you will play a key role in shaping the future of mathematics education. You will lead by example, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning, and support staff development to drive continuous improvement in student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies to enhance student achievement in mathematics.
- Lead and support the Maths department in delivering high standards of pedagogy and practice.
- Collaborate with Curriculum and Assistant Curriculum Leaders to ensure strategic planning and quality assurance.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress to identify areas for improvement and support.
- Provide professional development opportunities for teaching staff to enhance their practice.
- Stay up to date with emerging trends and developments in mathematics education.
- Ensure a proactive response to the needs and priorities of the school and department.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports all students.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a senior teaching or leadership role within a school setting.
- Strong subject knowledge in mathematics and a commitment to high-quality teaching.
- Experience in curriculum development and staff training.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external stakeholders.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department or team.
- Familiarity with data analysis and assessment strategies.
- Experience with educational technology and its integration into teaching.
- Previous involvement in school improvement initiatives.
- Experience with inclusive education and supporting diverse learners.
