The Opportunity:
As the Head of Food and Nutrition, you will lead the department in delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to Key Stage 3 and 4 students. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future of Food and Nutrition at the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Food and Nutrition department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons to Key Stage 3 and 4 students.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that promotes student achievement and progression.
- Support and mentor junior staff within the department.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the school to enhance cross-curricular links and student outcomes.
- Monitor and assess student progress to ensure continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
- Maintain and update facilities and equipment to support practical learning in Food and Nutrition.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the school’s ongoing development.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Food and Nutrition at Key Stage 3 and 4.
- Proven leadership experience within a school department.
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver high-quality lessons.
- Experience in managing and developing a team of teachers.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Preferred
- Experience in developing and implementing innovative teaching strategies.
- Experience with GCSE and A Level Food and Nutrition qualifications.
- Experience in leading a department to achieve outstanding results.
- Familiarity with industry-standard Food and Nutrition practices and equipment.
