Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the Food and Nutrition department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
• Deliver engaging and effective lessons to Key Stage 3 and 4 students.
• Develop and implement a curriculum that promotes student achievement and progression.
• Support and mentor junior staff within the department.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the school to enhance cross-curricular links and student outcomes.
• Monitor and assess student progress to ensure continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
• Maintain and update facilities and equipment to support practical learning in Food and Nutrition.
• Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the school’s ongoing development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Qualified teacher with experience in Food and Nutrition at Key Stage 3 and 4.
• Proven leadership experience within a school department.
• Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver high-quality lessons.
• Experience in managing and developing a team of teachers.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Preferred

• Experience in developing and implementing innovative teaching strategies.
• Experience with GCSE and A Level Food and Nutrition qualifications.
• Experience in leading a department to achieve outstanding results.
• Familiarity with industry-standard Food and Nutrition practices and equipment.
