The Opportunity:

A Part Time Housekeeper is needed to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene across the school. This role is essential in supporting a safe, welcoming environment for students and staff. The position offers flexibility in working hours and the opportunity to be part of a dedicated Facilities Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete recycling removal across the school.
  • Refill and replace soap, towels, and other materials in washrooms.
  • Replenish teas and coffee in the staff room as needed.
  • Monitor stock levels and report to the Facilities Manager when supplies are low.
  • Ensure all toilets and washrooms are kept to a high standard of cleanliness.
  • Regularly empty bins and ensure recycling is properly managed.
  • Check and top up dispensers such as toilet paper and paper towels daily.
  • Clean outdoor tables and eating areas to maintain a tidy environment.
  • Assist with emergency cleaning tasks such as clearing up after flooding.
  • Follow health and safety regulations, including COSHH guidelines, when handling chemicals and equipment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in cleaning or housekeeping duties.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including term-time only.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including COSHH.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and contribute positively.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Familiarity with using cleaning equipment and materials.
  • Previous experience with emergency cleaning or sanitation tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
