The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Geography Department to lead and inspire a team of teachers. This role is central to shaping the future of geography education and supporting student success across all levels.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the Geography Department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
• Develop and implement departmental strategies aligned with the school’s vision and curriculum standards.
• Oversee the planning, delivery, and assessment of Geography lessons at GCSE and A-Level.
• Monitor and support the professional development of Geography teachers within the department.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure alignment with school policies and initiatives.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and student achievement.
• Participate in curriculum development, staff training, and external partnerships.
• Ensure the effective use of data to inform teaching and improve student outcomes.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Proven experience as a Geography teacher in a UK curriculum school.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a department effectively.
• Experience teaching at GCSE and A-Level, including BTEC Travel & Tourism.
• In-depth knowledge of Geography curricula and assessment requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to student well-being and academic progress.

Preferred

• Experience in curriculum innovation or leading departmental initiatives.
• Familiarity with DSIB inspection frameworks and UAE educational standards.
• Demonstrated success in raising student achievement and attainment.
• Experience in mentoring and supporting new teachers.
