The Opportunity:

As a SEND Support Assistant, you will provide essential in-class and 1:1 support to students with special educational needs. This role is integral to ensuring that all students receive the tailored support they need to thrive academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide in-class and 1:1 support to students with special educational needs.
• Work closely with the SENDCo and senior SEND Support Assistants to implement intervention strategies.
• Assist in the assessment and planning of support for identified students.
• Contribute to the development and review of individual support plans.
• Support staff in identifying and meeting the needs of students with special educational needs.
• Attend training and professional development opportunities to enhance support delivery.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student support.
• Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Experience working with students with special educational needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to student welfare and inclusion.
• Flexibility to work within a dynamic and supportive school environment.

Preferred

• Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
• Knowledge of SEND policies and procedures.
• Experience with specialist exam access arrangements.
• Experience in developing and implementing individual support plans.
