The Opportunity:
As a SEND Support Assistant, you will provide essential in-class and 1:1 support to students with special educational needs. This role is integral to ensuring that all students receive the tailored support they need to thrive academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide in-class and 1:1 support to students with special educational needs.
- Work closely with the SENDCo and senior SEND Support Assistants to implement intervention strategies.
- Assist in the assessment and planning of support for identified students.
- Contribute to the development and review of individual support plans.
- Support staff in identifying and meeting the needs of students with special educational needs.
- Attend training and professional development opportunities to enhance support delivery.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student support.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with students with special educational needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to student welfare and inclusion.
- Flexibility to work within a dynamic and supportive school environment.
Preferred
- Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of SEND policies and procedures.
- Experience with specialist exam access arrangements.
- Experience in developing and implementing individual support plans.
