We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Head of Humanities to lead a large and successful faculty. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of Humanities education, inspire students, and drive academic excellence across the curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and develop a large, established Humanities faculty
- Deliver high-quality teaching and learning across the Humanities curriculum
- Ensure the delivery of outstanding student outcomes and progress
- Foster a collaborative and supportive team culture
- Develop and implement effective strategies for student engagement and achievement
- Support the professional development of staff within the faculty
- Work closely with senior leadership to align departmental goals with school objectives
- Promote a culture of inclusion, belonging, and academic excellence
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience as a Head of Department or equivalent leadership role
- Strong classroom teaching experience across the Humanities
- Experience of working within or alongside a Humanities team
- Demonstrable leadership and management skills
- Commitment to student achievement and academic excellence
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred
- Experience in a school with a strong Ofsted rating
- Leadership experience beyond the faculty level
- Experience with cross-curricular collaboration
- Experience with safeguarding and pastoral care
- Experience in curriculum development and innovation
