The Opportunity:

As a Housekeeping Porter, you will play a key role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the school site. This position is essential to the smooth running of the school, ensuring that all areas are well-maintained and welcoming for students, staff, and visitors throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and maintain outside areas to a high standard
  • Manage waste and recycling in accordance with the school’s policies
  • Deliver and collect laundry in a timely and efficient manner
  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of summer lettings
  • Conduct deep cleaning of the site during school holidays
  • Support the Estates & Services team with general maintenance and logistical tasks
  • Communicate effectively with pupils and staff when required
  • Work independently and as part of a team to ensure the school environment remains safe and welcoming

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Good organisational and cleaning skills
  • Ability to work outdoors and perform physical tasks
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning and maintenance procedures
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Experience with waste management or environmental sustainability
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures
  • Strong communication skills
  • Flexibility to work occasional weekends and holidays
