The Opportunity:

Join a dynamic and successful department as a Religious Education Teacher specialising in Philosophy & Ethics. This role offers the chance to teach across Years 7–11, with the potential to contribute to A-level teaching. The position is ideal for both experienced teachers and early career teachers with a strong academic background.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Philosophy & Ethics to students across Years 7–11, including those following GCSE and A-level courses.
  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that inspire critical thinking and ethical reflection.
  • Support students in developing their knowledge and understanding of religious and philosophical concepts.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Religious Education curriculum and student outcomes.
  • Contribute to the school’s commitment to student wellbeing and personal development.
  • Participate in professional development and training opportunities.
  • Assist with pastoral and extra-curricular activities where appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate records and assessments of student progress.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Religious Education.
  • Strong academic background in Philosophy and Ethics or related subjects.
  • Ability to deliver engaging and challenging lessons to students of all abilities.
  • Commitment to student development and academic excellence.
  • Experience of teaching Years 7–11 or equivalent.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching A-level Philosophy & Ethics or the potential to do so with high-attaining students.
  • Experience in a school with a strong academic reputation.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and the use of technology in education.
  • Experience working with diverse student groups.
