The Opportunity:
Join a dynamic and successful department as a Religious Education Teacher specialising in Philosophy & Ethics. This role offers the chance to teach across Years 7–11, with the potential to contribute to A-level teaching. The position is ideal for both experienced teachers and early career teachers with a strong academic background.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Philosophy & Ethics to students across Years 7–11, including those following GCSE and A-level courses.
- Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that inspire critical thinking and ethical reflection.
- Support students in developing their knowledge and understanding of religious and philosophical concepts.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Religious Education curriculum and student outcomes.
- Contribute to the school’s commitment to student wellbeing and personal development.
- Participate in professional development and training opportunities.
- Assist with pastoral and extra-curricular activities where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate records and assessments of student progress.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Religious Education.
- Strong academic background in Philosophy and Ethics or related subjects.
- Ability to deliver engaging and challenging lessons to students of all abilities.
- Commitment to student development and academic excellence.
- Experience of teaching Years 7–11 or equivalent.
Preferred
- Experience teaching A-level Philosophy & Ethics or the potential to do so with high-attaining students.
- Experience in a school with a strong academic reputation.
- Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and the use of technology in education.
- Experience working with diverse student groups.
