The Opportunity:

As the Head of Learning, you will play a vital role in shaping the academic and personal development of students. This position offers the chance to lead, inspire, and drive a culture of excellence, independence, and engagement among Sixth Form learners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage the Sixth Form Study Room, ensuring a calm, purposeful learning environment
• Promote and develop students’ independent study skills and habits
• Monitor student attendance, engagement, and use of study time effectively
• Act as a visible, approachable presence for students, offering guidance and support
• Uphold high standards of behaviour, dress code, and Sixth Form expectations
• Maintain resources, displays, and an organised learning environment
• Communicate effectively with Sixth Form Leaders and staff regarding student concerns
• Provide cover supervision across a range of subjects when required

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role within an educational setting
• Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to supporting student achievement and wellbeing
• High expectations of behaviour and engagement
• Reflective, resilient, and committed to continuous professional development
• Experience in promoting independent learning and study skills

Preferred

• Experience working with Sixth Form students
• Background in safeguarding and student welfare
• Familiarity with curriculum development and academic support strategies
• Experience in managing study spaces or learning environments
