The Opportunity:
As the Head of Lower Junior School and Class Teacher, you will lead and inspire pupils in Years 3–6, shaping their academic and personal development. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute strategically to a school’s vision while delivering high-quality teaching and pastoral care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Lower Junior School, ensuring academic and pastoral excellence across Years 3–6.
- Deliver high-quality teaching in core subjects such as English or mathematics.
- Support and develop staff within the Junior School Leadership Team.
- Promote a vibrant co-curricular programme and full involvement in school life, including residential trips.
- Work collaboratively with the Head of Junior School and the Strategic Leadership Group to drive school improvement and innovation.
- Ensure the highest standards of teaching and learning through effective leadership and professional development.
- Inspire pupils to be curious, kind and courageous learners in line with the school’s ethos.
- Manage and lead initiatives that enhance teaching and learning across the school.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience within an educational setting, ideally in a senior leadership role.
- Strong teaching experience, with a focus on core subjects such as English or mathematics.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high academic standards and pastoral care.
- Experience working within a co-educational, selective school environment.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection, with willingness to undergo appropriate checks.
Preferred
- Experience in school leadership or management, including strategic planning.
- Experience with curriculum development and innovation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in leading and managing teams effectively.
- Involvement in co-curricular activities and school events.
