The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and qualified part-time Art Teacher to join a dynamic and supportive department. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a vibrant curriculum and to shape the creative development of students through a wide range of artistic disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and inspiring art lessons across a broad curriculum including digital media, painting, sculpture, and mixed media.
  • Support students in developing their artistic skills and confidence through individual and group projects.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver a high-quality art curriculum aligned with the school’s educational goals.
  • Participate in extra-curricular activities, including school events, cultural trips, and art exhibitions.
  • Stay up to date with current trends and technologies in art education, including digital tools such as Sketchbook and Procreate.
  • Provide constructive feedback and assess student work in line with school standards and examination requirements.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through mentorship, pastoral support, and involvement in school initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A relevant degree in Art or a related field.
  • Demonstrable experience in teaching art at a secondary level or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to the school’s ethos and values, including character development and student flourishing.
  • Willingness to undergo child protection screening and provide references.

Preferred

  • Experience with digital media and iPad art applications such as Sketchbook and Procreate.
  • Experience working in a co-educational, independent school environment.
  • Ability to contribute to extra-curricular activities and school events.
  • Familiarity with the UK curriculum and examination systems (GCSE and A Level).
