The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach English and drama across the senior school (KS3 to A level) with a focus on delivering high-quality, engaging lessons.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of the school’s extra-curricular programme in English and drama.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain and improve strong academic results in both subjects.
  • Support the pastoral and personal development of students through active involvement in school life.
  • Participate in the planning and delivery of drama productions and theatre trips.
  • Work closely with the school library to enhance learning opportunities in English.
  • Manage a range of pastoral and administrative responsibilities associated with teaching and student welfare.
  • Engage with visiting authors and theatre professionals to enrich the curriculum and student experience.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching English and drama across the senior school age range.
  • Proven track record of success in delivering high-quality education and achieving strong academic outcomes.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to the school’s ethos and values, including a focus on character development and student welfare.
  • Willingness to participate in extra-curricular and pastoral activities.

Preferred

  • Experience with the Edexcel and Eduqas examination specifications.
  • Involvement in drama productions and theatre activities.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to a successful English or drama department.
  • Ability to contribute to the development of the school’s extra-curricular programme.
