The Opportunity:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Religious Studies Teacher to join a dynamic department and make a meaningful impact on student learning. This role offers the chance to contribute to a department that values innovation, character development, and academic achievement across key stages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Religious Studies lessons across KS3 and KS4, with the potential to teach A Level.
- Support students in developing critical thinking and analytical skills through engaging and challenging content.
- Contribute to the planning, delivery, and assessment of the Religious Studies curriculum.
- Organise and lead extra-curricular activities, including trips to local places of worship and guest speaker events.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the school, including those teaching geography and history at KS3.
- Participate in the broader life of the school through cultural, sporting, and other extra-curricular activities.
- Maintain a well-resourced and stimulating learning environment in dedicated classrooms.
- Engage in professional development and continuing teacher training opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in teaching Religious Studies at KS3 and KS4.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to the school's values of character development and academic excellence.
- Willingness to contribute to the pastoral and extra-curricular life of the school.
Preferred
- Experience teaching A Level Religious Studies.
- Ability to teach geography and/or history at KS3.
- Experience in organising and leading extra-curricular activities.
- Familiarity with virtue ethics and character-based education.
