The Opportunity:

As the Head of Mathematics, you will lead and inspire a dedicated department to deliver high-quality, inquiry-based learning aligned with IB principles. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, develop, and inspire the Mathematics department to deliver high-quality, inquiry-based learning.
• Oversee the planning and delivery of a coherent, vertically and horizontally aligned Maths curriculum.
• Create and sustain a positive, inclusive departmental culture that supports collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Support and coach teachers through mentoring, lesson observations, and professional dialogue.
• Ensure effective differentiation and inclusive practice across the department.
• Use assessment data to monitor progress and drive improved student outcomes.
• Promote the integration of technology and innovative pedagogical approaches.
• Collaborate with senior leaders and cross-curricular teams on curriculum development and strategic priorities.
• Engage proactively with parents and the wider school community regarding curriculum and departmental initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• A certified professional teaching qualification at degree level in Mathematics.
• 3–5 years of successful experience teaching Secondary Mathematics with evidence of strong student outcomes.
• Demonstrable experience in curriculum and departmental leadership, including supporting colleagues and contributing to curriculum planning.
• A proven passion for high-quality, inquiry-based Mathematics teaching.
• Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• The vision and commitment to contribute to a forward-thinking, collaborative school culture.

Preferred

• Experience teaching within an IB framework (MYP and/or DP).
• Experience with supporting gifted students, EAL learners, and those requiring additional support.
