The Opportunity:
As a MYP Coordinator, you will lead the implementation of the IB Middle Years Programme, ensuring alignment with IB standards and the school’s strategic vision. This role is ideal for someone passionate about inquiry-based learning and supporting educators to deliver high-quality, concept-driven instruction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, develop, and oversee the effective implementation of the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) in alignment with IB philosophy and Programme Standards & Practices.
- Support teachers in planning and delivering high-quality, inquiry-based, concept-driven learning across all MYP subject groups.
- Ensure vertical and horizontal curriculum alignment within the MYP and across the wider IB continuum.
- Coordinate and quality-assure MYP assessment practices, including standardisation, moderation, and reporting.
- Promote inclusive teaching and learning practices to meet the needs of a diverse international student body.
- Use assessment data and programme-level evidence to monitor student progress and drive continuous improvement.
- Oversee key MYP components, including Approaches to Learning (ATL), Service as Action, and the MYP Personal Project.
- Collaborate with senior leaders, Heads of Department, and pastoral teams to support whole-school priorities.
- Plan and facilitate professional learning to build staff capacity in MYP teaching and assessment.
- Engage with parents and the wider school community to communicate the MYP philosophy and curriculum structure.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A recognised professional teaching qualification at degree level (e.g. B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent) with experience teaching at Secondary level.
- 3–5 years’ successful teaching experience, ideally within an IB MYP environment, with evidence of strong student outcomes.
- Demonstrable experience in curriculum coordination or programme-level leadership, including supporting colleagues and driving consistency and improvement.
- Strong understanding of IB MYP philosophy, frameworks, and assessment practices.
Preferred
- Experience working within an IB continuum school.
- Passion for inquiry-based, concept-driven learning and the ability to inspire teachers across subject areas.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to ongoing professional learning and reflective practice.
