The Opportunity:

As an Inclusion Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students with additional needs, ensuring they have access to differentiated learning and achieve their full potential. This is a vital position in a school that values inclusion, innovation, and student success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement activities to support individual education plan (IEP) targets and structured literacy intervention programmes.
  • Provide in-class support to facilitate access to differentiated learning and assist teachers in delivering lessons effectively.
  • Work alongside teachers and other staff to support pupils with special educational needs and learning barriers.
  • Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils within the school community.
  • Monitor and maintain records of pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers to inform future learning planning.
  • Maintain a positive and supportive learning environment by developing appropriate resources and strategies.
  • Apply techniques to build pupils’ self-esteem, self-confidence, and independence.
  • Collaborate with the Inclusion Team, attend training sessions, and participate in parent review meetings when necessary.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A GCSE in English or equivalent, with strong spoken and written communication skills.
  • A relevant qualification or proof of completed training in education and special educational needs.
  • Prior experience in a support role within a school setting.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to student and staff privacy.
  • Good organisational and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of inclusive pedagogies.
  • Knowledge of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
