Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive excellence in teaching and learning across the Maths department
  • Promote high standards of numeracy and mathematical thinking throughout the school
  • Foster confidence, fluency and enjoyment in mathematical learning
  • Use assessment and data effectively to track progress and secure strong outcomes
  • Support pupils to become reflective, resilient and independent learners
  • Line manage and develop members of the Maths team
  • Contribute to whole-school academic development and improvement

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A strong track record in teaching and leadership within a secondary school setting
  • Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for mathematics
  • Experience in curriculum design and assessment strategies
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Commitment to inclusion and high academic outcomes for all students

Preferred

  • Experience in departmental leadership or middle management
  • Familiarity with data-driven teaching and learning approaches
  • Experience in promoting numeracy across the school community
