Key Responsibilities:
- Drive excellence in teaching and learning across the Maths department
- Promote high standards of numeracy and mathematical thinking throughout the school
- Foster confidence, fluency and enjoyment in mathematical learning
- Use assessment and data effectively to track progress and secure strong outcomes
- Support pupils to become reflective, resilient and independent learners
- Line manage and develop members of the Maths team
- Contribute to whole-school academic development and improvement
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A strong track record in teaching and leadership within a secondary school setting
- Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for mathematics
- Experience in curriculum design and assessment strategies
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Commitment to inclusion and high academic outcomes for all students
Preferred
- Experience in departmental leadership or middle management
- Familiarity with data-driven teaching and learning approaches
- Experience in promoting numeracy across the school community
- A proven ability to inspire and develop colleagues
